Kota ranks #6 fastest-growing company in Scaling Europe 2026

Kota has been ranked #6 in the Scaling Europe 2026 Rankings 50. Here's what the ranking actually measures, and what it means for us.

The Scaling Europe ranking doesn't spread itself thin. The headline metric is year-on-year revenue growth from 2024 to 2025. Everything else they look at - headcount, funding stage, hiring velocity - is there to pressure-test the number, not dress it up. A company either grew at that pace or it didn't.

There's no geographic balance to maintain, no sector quotas to fill. The question they're answering is pretty blunt: who is actually scaling right now, and by how much?

I find that refreshing. A lot of rankings reward the story as much as the substance. This one doesn't really have room for that.

Why 2025 was the year it showed up

We started Kota because the benefits market for growing companies was genuinely broken. The products that existed were built for large enterprises and hadn't changed much in twenty years. If you were a 50-person company trying to give your team health insurance or a pension that wasn't embarrassing, you were mostly on your own.

We built the infrastructure to change that. And in 2025, the compounding effect that started to kick in. Over 65,000 employees now access their benefits through Kota. The businesses we work with are themselves growing fast - and when your customers scale, you scale with them. It's not complicated. You just have to be solving a real problem.

Where we are

I'm proud of this. Sixth in Europe, measured on pure revenue growth - that's the team, full stop. The people who built the product, sold it, onboarded customers at pace, and kept the quality high while we were doing all of it at speed. That's hard to do and I don't take it for granted.

But I also don't think this is the top of the curve. The market for employee benefits infrastructure in Europe is still largely unsolved, and we've only scratched what the platform can eventually do. We're building AI into the product in ways that I think will meaningfully change what HR and finance teams can get done in a day. That work is at an early stage but it's moving.

The ranking reflects 2024 to 2025. The next version of this story is more interesting.
