Tusker's electric vehicle salary sacrifice schemes are now live in Kota, bringing a convenient and efficient route into an EV scheme for our customers and their employees.

Meeting the demand

Salary sacrifice was one of the most-requested benefits in our pipeline this year. Hundreds of customers have mentioned it being a value-add to their benefits offering both in terms of money saving and choice for employees. EV Salary Sacrifice specifically came up again and again: several HR leaders we regularly speak to have described it as the single benefit they get asked about most.

Introducing Tusker on Kota

We’re proud to now be offering Tusker through the Kota platform. This brings salary sacrifice EV salary sacrifice schemes to employers and employees using Kota’s platform, offered alongside the rest of your benefits.

For employees: access to an inclusive car benefit designed for convenience, flexibility and value. The package includes insurance, servicing, maintenance, breakdown cover, tyres and protection for lifestyle events, all wrapped into one simple monthly amount. Employees can select from a full range of makes and models (including electric, plug-in hybrid, mild hybrid cars). With Built to Order, Stock and Pre-Loved cars available, some cars can be delivered in as little as four weeks. Tusker's own quotation system and 400+ UK-based support staff, offered through the same platform employees already use for their other benefits. This means more choice for employees and potentially higher uptake of salary sacrifice benefits overall.

For HR: Tusker sits alongside your other salary sacrifice schemes, as well as the rest of your benefits offered in Kota - reducing the administrative overhead and potentially saving hours per month on benefits reporting.

For the business: no deposit or upfront cost for employer or employee. Tusker invoices only once a car is delivered, keeping it cost-neutral. Whilst the scheme is savings generative for employers, employers are likely to save roughly £4,000 per car in net Class 1 NI over the term of a typical agreement. In fact, just 50 employees taking cars works out to roughly £200,000 back to the business.

Why this matters for employees and employers

Cost. The NI saving above is real and measurable for businesses utilising an EV Salary Sacrifice scheme through Kota and Tusker.

Sustainability. Tusker offsets all tailpipe emissions and the CO2 generated by charging, for free: over 510,000 tonnes offset from 2013 to the end of 2025. Tusker have been successful in moving orders from 17% electric in 2019 to over 80% electric in 2026.

Financial wellbeing. A fixed monthly amount with no deposit and no surprise bills makes a real difference to financial wellbeing, especially versus financing a car through a personal lease.

Risk mitigation. Lifestyle Protections are a crucial part of how Tusker operates the scheme. Providing protection from day one, mitigating risk for a wide variety of health and life events. From resignation and redundancy to long term illnesses and maternity leave they are designed to work for both employees and employers.

Vehicle schemes that everyone can access

Tusker doesn't restrict employers to EV only. Plug-in hybrid, mild hybrid and low-emission cars are available too, which matters for keeping the scheme more inclusive than EV-only schemes. And because it runs through Kota, smaller companies get access to the same schemes without a minimum headcount requirement.
