Partner FAQs

Will this conflict with my client's existing broker?

Yes and no. While Kota acts as your broker for health, life, and pension employee benefits, switching to Kota as your broker is not a requirement to start using our platform for your client's benefits admin and employee enablement.

Do I have to disclose the commission to my client?

Yes, always. We ask every partner to tell their client, in plain language, that Kota pays a referral commission if they sign. That's not just professional good practice - it's what makes this a recommendation rather than a sales pitch. In our experience clients are entirely fine with it, because they can see you're recommending Kota on the merits, with the commission disclosed. We'll never ask you to hide it.

How do you count my referral?

First-registered partner wins. Send us the client's details by email before any introduction and we lock the account to you for 90 days. If the client is already an active opportunity in Kota's CRM, we'll tell you within two working days so you're not competing for something you can't win.

What counts as "Net ARR" for the 10% share?

The annualised recurring platform fee Kota actually invoices and collects during the customer's first twelve months live, net of VAT, discounts, credits, refunds, and any pass-through premiums paid to underwriters. One-off implementation or professional-services fees are excluded. The 10% share is payable on Year 1 only - expansions inside that window count, expansions after it don't. We show the maths on every quarterly statement.

Is this a reseller programme?

No. This is a pure referral programme. Kota is the regulated broker - partners introduce prospects, but do not advise on regulated insurance products, quote, bind cover or handle customer money on Kota's behalf. That keeps the programme clean for both sides.

Do I need to sign anything?

No. By filling in the form, you as a prospective referral partner agree to the partner terms outlined in our partner terms page.
